YouTube Looper Project
The YouTube Looper project is a set of tools, that I’ve been using on a daily basis to learn and practice song covers for my YouTube channel.
Additional uses for this tool:
- Casual backing track jamming.
- Learning and practicing scales to a backing track in specific key.
- Transcribing – tabs, recipes, text…
- Practicing parts of anything music related (dance, ice skating, etc.) from YouTube music videos and refining to a Metronome.
Main Features
Features implemented in the project so far:
- Search video by id or URL.
- Mark video loop start/end points.
- Adjust loop start/end points values manually.
- Save and edit video loops menu, stored in a cookie.
- Set custom tempo/BPM per video.
- Toggle the custom tempo/BPM in metronome.
- Tap tempo to approximate BPM with a shortcut (hold shift and tap space bar).
- Shortcuts for most common actions in player, looper, etc.
- Dark mode (theme).
Planned Features
The following features are some ideas and suggestions that might be added one day:
- Share loop link/url.
- Metronome design
- Multiple sections in a single video.
